Nu:ionic Technologies is developing novel applications of industrial microwave technology to electrify the process industry. Our Microwave Catalytic Reformer (MCR) produces Teal Hydrogen – a low carbon hydrogen with 90% lower carbon intensity when compared with existing reformer solutions.
In commercializing our products, the Mechanical Support Technician will participate with the Research and Innovation Staff in the execution of laboratory projects and experiments, perform a variety of specialized tasks according to established methodology, and assist in the organization and completion of maintenance tasks.
Other responsibilities within the Research and Innovation Center include:
- Prepares and sets up materials and equipment.
- Maintains equipment and performs repairs.
- Maintains facilities (e.g., lab, process unit and storage facilities) and ensures areas are organized, clean and in working order.
- Adheres to health and safety guidelines, processes and procedures.
This is a contract position located in our Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada office.
Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Nu:ionic Technologies is required.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrates familiarity with technology such as Microsoft Office Suite products and other software.
- Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings, and manuals to determine maintenance and work procedures.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with demonstrated hands-on experience.
- Excellent critical and analytical thinking skills.
- High dependability, initiative, and able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
- Effective interpersonal relationships.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a mechanical related discipline with maintenance management and supervisory experience.
Mental and Physical Effort
- Occasionally required to work long hours without supervision.
- Work overtime as required.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. (20 kg).
Working Conditions
- Use of standard PPE (safety glasses, hard hat, safety shoes, FR clothing, supplied work gloves) is required at all times, increased PPE for specific short-term tasks.
- Must be available for flexible working hours, typically after hours and nights, according to business needs.
- Indoor maintenance operations.
- At times, outdoor activities in all weather conditions.
- At times, the work can be moderately physically demanding.
